The Library: Our 8th Wonder of the World?

Libraries have taken on so many different roles during recent years to remain an information destination for the community. What recent innovations in library design trends and services have you observed? One example is the Southern California’s Huntington Library, which will open one of the nation’s largest Chinese Gardens in February of 2008.

Has the library environment changed and what challenges do libraries face in meeting the information and aesthetic needs of its patrons? Are patrons looking for more than quiet study spaces and comfortable chairs?
